Our Mission
The purpose of Macon Pride is to advance unity, visibility and self-esteem among LGBTQIA+ persons and our allies and to promote a positive image in the Middle Georgia area through community activities and service.
Our Vision
Macon Pride believes in educating our community, celebrating our diversity, commemorating our history, and liberating our people in the Middle Georgia region.
EVENTS
Our weeklong calendar of events was started to improve visibility, acceptance, understanding and legal protection for LGBTQIA+ for people living in the middle Georgia area. Although Pride Day was initially political in nature, many communities around the world have since accepted with open arms the celebration of pride for the local LGBTQIA+ community. We still face obstacles in achieving full acceptance and protection for our LGBTQIA+ community, but we have made considerable progress. Over the past 50 years, pride festivals, events, demonstrations, and marches have evolved substantially.
